My name is Garrett Collins, and I am 24 years old. I am from Cochran, GA, and am currently in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Georgia College & State University in Macon. My major is Secondary Teacher Education, and my concentration is Business Education. In May of 2016, I will be certified to teach grades 6-12.
I currently serve as a community coach at Northside High School in Warner Robins. This fall, I coached football, and I am currently coaching basketball. In the spring, I will coach baseball. I am also a substitute teacher in the Bleckley and Houston County school systems in Cochran and Warner Robins, respectively. This semester, I conducted my field placements at Mossy Creek Middle School and Veterans High School in Warner Robins.
I graduated from Bleckley County High School in 2009 and Middle Georgia College in the summer of 2011 with an Associate of Arts in General Studies. In December of 2013, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Sport Management, and this past May, I graduated from the University of Georgia again with a Master of Science; my major was Kinesiology, and my concentration was Sport Management & Policy. From September of 2012 to April of 2015, I worked as a student assistant in the University of Georgia football recruiting office.
I enjoy going to church, playing and watching sports, fishing, going to the movies, bowling, and keeping up with politics. Last but not least, I am getting married in June of 2016. My fiancé and I have been dating since April of 2010.
